“TEACHING FOR LIFE”
Through our subsidiaries, GEPP and GAM, we maintain our commitment to several of the communities in which we operate, creating value for its population through various education and health initiatives.
The first GED Center in Guadalajara, Jalisco, was founded 54 years ago, guided by Miss Luz Elena Huerta, a teacher who adapted traditional education at the time, to develop an integral educational model that was not only academic but values-based as well. In 2011, GEP and GAM created the”GED Education Centers” Foundation; and later, other Educational Centers (CE Spanish acronym) were founded: CE Tala, CE Tepeaca, CE El Dorado and CE Hermosillo.
The integral education model taught at these schools seeks to teach core academics to children while sensitizing and raising their awareness of strong family values.
Currently, full capacity of the Education Centers is 1,080 students. We are at 93% occupancy with a total of 1,002 students, of which 26% are children of GEPP and GAM employees.
For the 2015-2016 cycle, an estimate of 31% of the new students entering first grade will be direct relatives of GEPP and GAM employees.
and 5,000 alumni graduated from the Guadalajara Education Center
